1) SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- All you need to VIEW a 'Live' Petz web site is
an Internet connection, a web browser (Internet
Explorer, Netscape, or AOL) and the Petz Player
Plugin.

- You will also need DirectX 5.0 (or greater)
installed on your computer if you want to have the
fully interactive Petz experience which includes
sound. If you have Petz 3, you already have
DirectX 5.2. If you do not have Petz 3 or DirectX,
you will be able to see and play with 'Live' Petz,
but not hear them. However, most recently purchased
PC's have DirectX-compatible sound cards and drivers.

- If you want to CREATE a "Live" Petz web site you
need the Petz 3 application (Dogz 3, Catz 3 or
both), the latest version of the Petz Publisher
which includes 'Live' templates, and the Petz
Player plugin. See your Petz 3 program for
additional system requirements.

2) PLAYER INSTALLATION
   a) Open your Internet browser
   b) Go to www.petz.com/petzshop/demos.asp
   c) Download the Player.exe to your desktop
   d) Double-click Player.exe
   e) Follow the installation instructions

3) GETTING STARTED
The Player installs to the latest version of all
browsers you have installed on your computer, and
enables you to interact with 'Live' Petz that have
been Published on the internet by owners of Petz 3.
Once you have installed the Petz Player plugin, you
can interact with any 'Live' Petz you find on the
web!

4) THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW...
- The Petz Player browser plugin is compatible
with the following web browsers: Netscape 3 and 4,
Internet Explorer 3 and 4, and AOL (as AOL uses
Internet Explorer as its browser).

- The Petz Player browser plugin requires DirectX
5.0 (or greater) to play sounds. As mentioned in
System Requirements above, if you do not have Petz 3
or DirectX installed, you may not be able to hear
'Live' Petz. You may ALSO have problems with sound
when visiting with 'Live' Petz if another Audio
application is playing audio in the background.

3) AOL users who have other browsers installed on their
computer may have problems using the Petz Player in AOL.
The Petz Player plugin automatically installs to your
default browser. AOL currently uses Internet Explorer
3 as its browser. If you are experiencing problems,
make sure the npPetz.dll file from the Plugins folder
of other browser(s) is copied into the Plugins
folder for the AOL browser (Internet Explorer). If you
continue to have problems, you may need to use the
Player in Internet Explorer or Netscape, outside of AOL.

Thanks for spending time with the Petz Player, and enjoy!
